Young love!

I was so happy to find the pictures in the layout below. They are of my Mom when she was 19 and dating my Dad. I love everything about the pictures and knew that I just had to do a layout of them. I made this layout for my Dad for his birthday - he really liked it and hung it up right
away!
Sorry the picture of the layout isn't too clear - I'll try to get another picture of it and post again soon!

Finally some layouts from Memories Manor Weekend

I have finally figured out how to crop pictures of my layouts on my computer, so I thought that I would share some of the layouts that I did at Memories Manor. I think I managed to complete 11 layouts - which doesn't seem like nearly enough - but I was busy shopping, eating and meeting new people as well as cropping!

This layout I called 70's Girl. It is a picture of me from when I was 4 or 5 years old. I didn't want to put any journalling on it as I think that it speaks for itself!

This next layout I called "a day in my life". I am a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a Veteran's Hospital. All the pics are things that I see and do in a typical day at work!

I tried different products - such as cardboard and mesh - and I really like the way it worked with this layout!

Proof that I am a .... Mom! I am a Mom - I see it everywhere I look - from piles of laundrey, to runny noses, to tiny pairs of shoes at my front door. But I would never trade this job in my life - I love being a Mom to two adorable little people!

My Mr. Attidude! I made a mistake when I was putting the thickers on my title - it was supposed to say attitude - but it kind of fit the layout idea. Lately Tyler has been talking with a bit of attitude! Saying things like 'Yo' and 'That's sick' and things like a little punk would say - I think it is cute for now - but please don't keep up with the attitude, mr. attidude!

And now, the last two layouts - and they are not all that I accomplished this weekend - but this post is long enough as it is - so I will post some more later!

1. Whoo loves U? Okay - so you can't see the
shirt - but it says Whoo loves u? on it so of
course I had to do a layout titled that! I
thought that this paper went perfectly with
the theme - fall and owls! And in anwser to
the question - WE do!
2. Addy, u always have piles of smiles! I loved
the little card that had piles of smiles written
on it. As soon as I saw it I knew that I had to
use it on this layout - and it fit with the idea that
I had for the title! The picture says it all with your
giant smile! You smile for everyone - and as far
as I am concerned - it melts my heart!
Thanks for looking at my layouts! Now that I figured out how to post them - I will do it more often I promise!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Oh what a weekend!

Wow! Okay - so I am at a loss for words when it comes to describing my weekend at Memories Manor. The place was amazing! The two owners Jan and Deanna were amazing! The food was amazing! The company was amazing!

When we arrived at the Manor two really nice young men greated us and took our bags to our room and our scrapping stuff to the crop room. We walked into this 10,000 square foot manson and it was like we were transported into another world, another time! We had an amazing supper (which I won't tell you what it was because if you go - then it won't be a surprize, but I will say that my mouth is watering right now thinking about it!). Then we went on a tour of the house and it took almost an hour and a half - so you can probably imagine how large it is and how much history it has.

There were six rooms and eighteen ladies there for the weekend. Some people I knew a bit, some I knew well, and some that I would love to see again. There were four people in my room - Jenn, Heather, and Judy. Some guests that were there were beginner scrapbookers and some were on design teams. Some owned their own stores, and some loved to shop at their stores! Everyone did amazing layouts, and some shared their ideas as well. I will try to post some pictures of my layouts - as soon as I can figure out how to do it.

A bunch of us are planning a return visit to Memories Manor. If you want to come with us - let me know - I believe we will be going not this Spring, but the following one! And I CAN'T wait!

Hope you have a great week - stay tuned for some Halloween pictures of the kids!

Only a few more days!

Hi there everyone!

Well I tried to post on Sunday - but for some reason I wasn't able to do it! Then I got busy, and now sick! I just hope I get better as I am going away on a girls only scrapbooking weekend on Friday to Memories Manor in Saint Claire, Michigan. I am so excited! I am going with one of my best friends Heather and another really good friend Judy. We have had this weekend planned for over a year and a half!

So, I promised that I would post some pics of my cake that I made for my Mother-in-law. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped - but everyone seemed to like the looks of it!

I hope you all have a great week - and that you get a chance to scrapbook - I know I will be scrappin' all weekend long - and MAN I can't wait!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well it is finally Thanksgiving! I LOVE Thanksgiving weekend. To bad it is raining out though! We have plans to go away to see our family for the weekend. It is my Mother-in-law's 60th birthday this weekend. I am going to make a cake for her. Yes - I have another hobby other than scrapbooking. Unfortunately I am having a huge creative block with this cake. I am sure it will turn out - and of course I will post some pictures of it when I finish it!

Here are some pics of some of the other cakes I have made.

I hope you and your families all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! I know I will!

CIBC Run for the Cure

I am blessed! I have really great friends. Today we celebrated the life and journey of one of my very dear friends. She knows who she is, so I will leave her name off here, but for those of you that know me - you know who I am talking about. Today was the CIBC run for the cure all across Canada. Our team, made up of 18 people, ran/walked in London. There was over 4500 people that made it out today for the event. Some teams had really great names, some teams had really great 'dress-up' gear, but everyone had really great spirit! We all held hands crossing the finish line - and for anyone that has been touched by breast cancer - it was an amazing feeling to cross that line with someone that is a survivor in so many ways! Thanks for being you!

Western Fair

Well it is Saturday again! I can't believe how fast time flies!

I went to the Western Fair here in London yesterday with my Residents from the Hospital where I work. I had an 88 year old Veteran who desperately wanted to go on the ferris wheel with me - but he wasn't able to stand in line, so we settled for the gondala ride that goes from one end of the fair to the other instead. He was so excited! He held my hand and was being all protective of me because he thought I was afraid of the ride - but I was really scared that he might fall out! I am so happy we did this together - it was really a great moment for me!

We plan on taking the family to the fair tomorrow! My husband thought he would go alone with my five year old son - this from the man who gets sick on pretty much any ride! I think Addy and I will go with them just to make sure they are ok! (LOL!).

Here is an older layout that I did with fair pictures from a few years ago from Tyler's first trip!
This will be Addy in the stroller this year wishing that she could go on all the rides with her big brother!

Happy Saturday!

Wow - it's the weekend already! I can't believe that the first week of school is already over - which also means that my holidays are over! (although it wasn't much of a vacation - I was sick for the entire week!).

Tyler did really great at school this week! He loves his new teacher, and all of his buddies from last year are in his class - who could ask for anything better than that!

I thought I would post a few more of my layouts on here - just don't judge my 'cropping of the photos' skills!

This pumpkin patch one is pretty old! Tyler is
five now and was only about two in the pics! But I thought that it fit well with the season!

I love Addison's huge eyes in this 'Apple of my Eyes!' layout! I couldn't resist doing a layout of this picture. You can't really tell on this small image of the layout - but her p.j.'s totally match this October afternoon paper! Oh how I LOVE October afternoon!

Back to School

I can't believe that tomorrow is the first day of school already! This little man starts SK tomorrow - where did the time go little man? You just keep surprizing me with all you do and know! Just a few moments ago you were giving me advice on diapers - telling me that we should use Huggies instead of Pampers because they fit more accurately.

I am on vacation this week so I am hopeful that I will get some scrapbooking done - so once I do I will post some layouts! I do know that I going to at least clean and organize my scrapbooking space!

The countdown is on - only seven more weeks until the scrapbook ladies and I go to Memories Manor. I am super excited to go - can you tell? A whole entire weekend spent with good friends doing something that I totally love to do!

Well I am off to spend half an hour of much needed cuddle time with Tyler before he goes to bed - I am not sure who is more nervous about school starting - him or I???

September Kit Reveal

Hello Everyone! I am super excited today to reveal my layouts that I did with the September kit from Scrappin' Great Deals. Thanks to Sheila for allowing me to be a guest designer for this month! I love the kit by the way!

The first layout I did just using items from the kit - I have been wanting to use these pictures for a few years - and finally found a way to do so!

The second layout I added: craft paper, rainboots thickers, and the flowers which are American Crafts.

And the final layout I added Black Tie velvet and Lullaby Thickers, more American Craft flowers and I also used my Cricut to make two of the flowers, and finally some Kaiser Pearls (LOVE those!). I know that the picture doesn't really go with the theme - but the expression on my daughter's face does!

Thanks for looking and also check out these other three designers for September at SGD : Sarah, Deena, and Krista, it is really great to see how the four of us did such different pages! Lots of ideas ladies - all you need is the kit!

Wait for it!

Hello again!

Last night I went to the movies with a few of my close friends Heather and Cindi - Mommy to be again! Shannon was also supposed to come - but she decided to stay at home and give birth to her second baby - I guess we can forgive her that one! We watched Julie and Julia and it has inspired me to get back on track with my blogging! I am currently working on a kit from Scrapping Great Deals that I will be revealing on September 1st. I do have to say that my first attempt at working with a kit was more challenging than I thought! I loved the kit - but doing this has totally put me out of my comfort zone. I has made me rethink the way I scrapbook! I am used to having all the say in what I use for my layouts, but by using a kit - all of the 'say' has been taken away from me! I LOVED the challenge! Special thanks to Sheila (owner of SGD's) for allowing me to do September's kit for you! Keep yours eyes peeled for my reveal!

Okay - so I couldn't figure out how to post a layout properly - so I am doing a new post. The above layouts are some of my older ones. Just thought I would start with them first!

Transitions

Well I have to say that I am not great at dealing with change. I am trying really hard to embrace this whole blogging world - but I am having major issues with it. I am trying to figure things out - but can't for the life of me! For instance - I am going to try to link my friend Heatherhttp://greenapplegirl.typepad.com/ but I can't figure out how to have it so that just her name is the link and not her blog address! GRRRR! I am also going to try to post some of my layouts on here - we'll see if I am successful at that one!

Speaking of transitions - my almost one year old Addison, took her first five steps this morning. I was very emotional to say the least. I think I scared her a bit when I reacted to her doing this! My baby isn't much of a baby anymore - she is growing WAY to fast for this Mommy! This picture below is Addison at my Sister-in-law's house this past weekend. She is playing on the slip and slide (well not really playing, more like drinking the water!).

Very new at this!

So I guess I have decided to start a blog! We'll see how this works out for me! I haven't had too much time lately for scrapbooking as my husband just went back to work from parental leave and I am at home with my almost one year old little girl Addison and my almost five year old little boy Tyler. I love being at home with the two of them, but they require a lot of attention and therefore scrapbooking has been put on the back burner for now.
I am out of town right now celebrating Canada Day with family in Barrie. I will try to figure out how to upload pictures on here soon!
I hope everyone enjoys my space here once I finally figure it all out!
For now - happy scrapping!
