Finally some layouts from Memories Manor Weekend

I have finally figured out how to crop pictures of my layouts on my computer, so I thought that I would share some of the layouts that I did at Memories Manor. I think I managed to complete 11 layouts - which doesn't seem like nearly enough - but I was busy shopping, eating and meeting new people as well as cropping!

This layout I called 70's Girl. It is a picture of me from when I was 4 or 5 years old. I didn't want to put any journalling on it as I think that it speaks for itself!

This next layout I called "a day in my life". I am a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a Veteran's Hospital. All the pics are things that I see and do in a typical day at work!

I tried different products - such as cardboard and mesh - and I really like the way it worked with this layout!

Proof that I am a .... Mom! I am a Mom - I see it everywhere I look - from piles of laundrey, to runny noses, to tiny pairs of shoes at my front door. But I would never trade this job in my life - I love being a Mom to two adorable little people!

My Mr. Attidude! I made a mistake when I was putting the thickers on my title - it was supposed to say attitude - but it kind of fit the layout idea. Lately Tyler has been talking with a bit of attitude! Saying things like 'Yo' and 'That's sick' and things like a little punk would say - I think it is cute for now - but please don't keep up with the attitude, mr. attidude!

And now, the last two layouts - and they are not all that I accomplished this weekend - but this post is long enough as it is - so I will post some more later!

1. Whoo loves U? Okay - so you can't see the
shirt - but it says Whoo loves u? on it so of
course I had to do a layout titled that! I
thought that this paper went perfectly with
the theme - fall and owls! And in anwser to
the question - WE do!
2. Addy, u always have piles of smiles! I loved
the little card that had piles of smiles written
on it. As soon as I saw it I knew that I had to
use it on this layout - and it fit with the idea that
I had for the title! The picture says it all with your
giant smile! You smile for everyone - and as far
as I am concerned - it melts my heart!
Thanks for looking at my layouts! Now that I figured out how to post them - I will do it more often I promise!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Oh what a weekend!

Wow! Okay - so I am at a loss for words when it comes to describing my weekend at Memories Manor. The place was amazing! The two owners Jan and Deanna were amazing! The food was amazing! The company was amazing!

When we arrived at the Manor two really nice young men greated us and took our bags to our room and our scrapping stuff to the crop room. We walked into this 10,000 square foot manson and it was like we were transported into another world, another time! We had an amazing supper (which I won't tell you what it was because if you go - then it won't be a surprize, but I will say that my mouth is watering right now thinking about it!). Then we went on a tour of the house and it took almost an hour and a half - so you can probably imagine how large it is and how much history it has.

There were six rooms and eighteen ladies there for the weekend. Some people I knew a bit, some I knew well, and some that I would love to see again. There were four people in my room - Jenn, Heather, and Judy. Some guests that were there were beginner scrapbookers and some were on design teams. Some owned their own stores, and some loved to shop at their stores! Everyone did amazing layouts, and some shared their ideas as well. I will try to post some pictures of my layouts - as soon as I can figure out how to do it.

A bunch of us are planning a return visit to Memories Manor. If you want to come with us - let me know - I believe we will be going not this Spring, but the following one! And I CAN'T wait!

Hope you have a great week - stay tuned for some Halloween pictures of the kids!

Only a few more days!

Hi there everyone!

Well I tried to post on Sunday - but for some reason I wasn't able to do it! Then I got busy, and now sick! I just hope I get better as I am going away on a girls only scrapbooking weekend on Friday to Memories Manor in Saint Claire, Michigan. I am so excited! I am going with one of my best friends Heather and another really good friend Judy. We have had this weekend planned for over a year and a half!

So, I promised that I would post some pics of my cake that I made for my Mother-in-law. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped - but everyone seemed to like the looks of it!

I hope you all have a great week - and that you get a chance to scrapbook - I know I will be scrappin' all weekend long - and MAN I can't wait!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well it is finally Thanksgiving! I LOVE Thanksgiving weekend. To bad it is raining out though! We have plans to go away to see our family for the weekend. It is my Mother-in-law's 60th birthday this weekend. I am going to make a cake for her. Yes - I have another hobby other than scrapbooking. Unfortunately I am having a huge creative block with this cake. I am sure it will turn out - and of course I will post some pictures of it when I finish it!

Here are some pics of some of the other cakes I have made.

I hope you and your families all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! I know I will!

CIBC Run for the Cure

I am blessed! I have really great friends. Today we celebrated the life and journey of one of my very dear friends. She knows who she is, so I will leave her name off here, but for those of you that know me - you know who I am talking about. Today was the CIBC run for the cure all across Canada. Our team, made up of 18 people, ran/walked in London. There was over 4500 people that made it out today for the event. Some teams had really great names, some teams had really great 'dress-up' gear, but everyone had really great spirit! We all held hands crossing the finish line - and for anyone that has been touched by breast cancer - it was an amazing feeling to cross that line with someone that is a survivor in so many ways! Thanks for being you!

Western Fair

Well it is Saturday again! I can't believe how fast time flies!

I went to the Western Fair here in London yesterday with my Residents from the Hospital where I work. I had an 88 year old Veteran who desperately wanted to go on the ferris wheel with me - but he wasn't able to stand in line, so we settled for the gondala ride that goes from one end of the fair to the other instead. He was so excited! He held my hand and was being all protective of me because he thought I was afraid of the ride - but I was really scared that he might fall out! I am so happy we did this together - it was really a great moment for me!

We plan on taking the family to the fair tomorrow! My husband thought he would go alone with my five year old son - this from the man who gets sick on pretty much any ride! I think Addy and I will go with them just to make sure they are ok! (LOL!).

Here is an older layout that I did with fair pictures from a few years ago from Tyler's first trip!
This will be Addy in the stroller this year wishing that she could go on all the rides with her big brother!

Happy Saturday!

Wow - it's the weekend already! I can't believe that the first week of school is already over - which also means that my holidays are over! (although it wasn't much of a vacation - I was sick for the entire week!).

Tyler did really great at school this week! He loves his new teacher, and all of his buddies from last year are in his class - who could ask for anything better than that!

I thought I would post a few more of my layouts on here - just don't judge my 'cropping of the photos' skills!

This pumpkin patch one is pretty old! Tyler is
five now and was only about two in the pics! But I thought that it fit well with the season!

I love Addison's huge eyes in this 'Apple of my Eyes!' layout! I couldn't resist doing a layout of this picture. You can't really tell on this small image of the layout - but her p.j.'s totally match this October afternoon paper! Oh how I LOVE October afternoon!
